About Us

Williamstown Women’s Lacrosse Club was established in 1936. We field women’s and girl’s teams in all grades of the Victorian Lacrosse competition from Under 10’s to State League.

Lacrosse has always been a key part of Williamstown history and there are generations of families that have played lacrosse here. Lacrosse is a part of Willy kids lives - if your brother or sister doesn’t play, your aunty, cousin or neighbour will!

On the 28th of March 1936, our club challenged the status quo and participated in the first women’s lacrosse game in Victoria against YWCA at Albert Park. Since then, our club has grown to be one of the largest in the country and we pride ourselves on providing opportunities for women and girls to participate and thrive in a sport that builds strength, camaraderie and character. From the first women’s game in Victoria in 1936 to today … we’ve been there. And we will continue to be there for the women and girls who love our sport like we do!

Our club has playing members from 6 years of age to 50+ and we have a very clear focus on junior development and ensuring a family friendly, fun environment.

Our club works extensively within the local community to introduce new players to lacrosse and more broadly promote the sport. Many of our members, who are ex-Australian players, regularly run clinics in local schools and through the Lacrosse Australia QuickStix program.

We train on Monday and Wednesday nights at Fearon Reserve, Esplanade Williamstown. Our teams play on a Sunday as part of the Lacrosse Victoria competition as well as in various tournaments held throughout the year.
